The arms of Lord Shiva came out as per the Kedarnath myth, at Tungnath. He is worshiped here as one of the Panch Kedars. Tungnath temple is the highest Shiva Shrine amongst the Panch Kedars but the easiest to reach from the nearest road head. It is sited at an altitude of 3680 mts and usually pilgrims get down at Choptachatti on Ukhimath - Gopeshwar motor road. Chopta (3000 mts) is famous for its mountain views.
The enterprising one can climb the Chandrashila peak from Tungnath as it is in the same feature and can be reached in about an hour's time. The peak provides a rare panoramic view of snow peaks.
Choptachatti - Tungnath - Chandrashila
Day1:- On arrival at Delhi international airport/Railway station,& departure for Rishikesh
Day2:- Early morning Group departure to Chopta 212 KM Lunch enroute. Arrival Chopta and transfer to the Hotel/Tent. Dinner and overnight in Chopta
Day3:-morning 60km driver and 5km trek for chopta and back to chopta
Day4:-10 Km trek Chopta to Tungnath & Chandrashila and back to Chopta
Day5:-Morrning Drive (212km)for rishikesh, sight seen enroot night stay in Rishikeshs
Day6:-Early morning 240 Kms drive to Delhi, Tour Concludes
